About me

Anna Strolenberg

Member of European Parliament

Why did i get into politics?

Five years ago, I joined Volt and started as national campaign leader. I was inspired by Volt’s ambition to be a real answer to the rise of populism. Together, we built Volt Netherlands from the ground up, gaining a foothold in municipalities, provinces, and the Dutch Lower Chamber.

I’m deeply concerned by the scapegoat politics we see more and more often. It distracts from the real question: what kind of country and continent do we want to be? For me, the answer is clear: a Europe that is open, social, and green.

In the European Parliament, especially on polarised issues like asylum and migration, I want to make a positive difference.

The Real Migration Crisis? Europe’s Talent Shortage

The recent attacks on academic freedom by Donald Trump have set something in motion: researchers are increasingly choosing Europe as a safe haven.

Good news: we in Europe finally dare to address our skills shortage!

If we want to remain competitive in Europe, we need to attract talent and take part in the global competition for talent.
